With only one week left of Songkran celebrations, Simply Asia has already raised enough money to help The Lunchbox Fund provide 18 328 meals to feed hungry, underprivileged school children throughout South Africa.
“We are hoping that the last few days of our Thai New Year’s celebrations will be our most successful and help The Lunchbox Fund to feed even more deserving children,” explains Liane Wadman, National Marketing Manager for Simply Asia.
The Lunchbox Fund is a NGO that focuses on fostering education through nutrition by providing a daily meal for orphaned and vulnerable school children in townships and rural areas of South Africa. Their belief is that when you feed a child, you nourish their mind.
R2,50 is all that it costs for The Lunchbox Fund to provide a hot meal for a child each school day, and costs a mere R500 to feed a child for a full school year.
Simply Asia is encouraging their customer to sit-down at their nearest Simply Asia branch in the last 3 days of their Songkran campaign (11 – 13 May 2015), order a noodle dish and receive a second noodle dish absolutely free, so that for every Songkran Special sold they can donate R2,50 (which is the cost of one hot meal for a child) to The Lunchbox Fund.
And for customers who are in a hurry and can’t sit-down to enjoy this delicious special, Simply Asia are also allowing their take-away customers to benefit by offering 25% off the cheaper of the 2 noodle dishes.
So make sure you visit your local Simply Asia store before the 13th of May 2015 to use your noodle and help feed hungry children in South Africa, because one good feed deserves another.
