“It has become a very popular game across the world and South Africa is no different,” says Tanuja Gangabishun, Marketing Executive at Emerald Resort & Casino. “Often when friends gather for a couple of beers, in beer tents, craft beer festivals or similar events, the entertaining Beer Pong activity makes an appearance.
It has become so popular that there is even an internationally organised competitive Beer Pong tournament held each year.”
While technically a drinking game, beer pong requires a great deal of skill and sometimes a little luck. The rules are simple! Arrange ten half filled cups with beer in a triangle on each end of a table. The goal is to attempt throwing two balls on each turn across the length of the table and into the cups of the opposing team. At the end of a turn, each cup containing a ball is consumed by the opposing team and removed. The game ends when there are no cups left.
Enter a team of two on the evening and possibly win a R500 (minimum). The tournament starts at 19h00.
