It seems that winter has finally arrived, the temperature has plummeted and the ground is pretty frosty in the mornings. As the winter chill grips South Africa, visitors to Emerald Resort & Casino needn’t concern themselves as there are many hot options to keep the whole family entertained.
“From boat races on the Vaal River to our temperate climate controlled Aquadome, from wine shows to Pins Bowling Alley Hibernation Station Sundays, we offer something for everyone this winter,” says Tanuja Gangabishun, Marketing Executive at Emerald Resort & Casino.
One of the more popular events this season will be the 2015 Wine Show to be held at the Events & Exhibition (E&E) Centre on the 3rd and 4th July. This year over 200 wines from a variety of exhibitors will be available for sampling and sale. Some favourites include Claim d’Or, Muratie, Neil Ellis, House of Mandela, Driehoek and Le Pommier which cannot be found in local bottle stores.
The Vaal Meander Wine Route takes place from 11 July to 16 August 2015 and one of the destinations is High Stakes Restaurant on Saturdays and Sundays. Take the opportunity to celebrate eight of South Africa’s specially selected wines.
For those that want to brave the colder weather and watch some boating action, the Ice Block returns on Saturday the 27th June. The day of adrenaline filled boat racing includes action from rubber ducks, hard bottom boats and jet skis.
If it’s a game of Beer Pong or a fun quiz evening that guests are looking for, Sports Bar, now a smoking venue, offers the over 18’s hours of fun away from the chill and the chance to win some money on the games.
The kids can enjoy The Hot Spot Special or even Hibernation Station Sundays at Pins Bowling Alley where a game of ten pin bowling will cost R20. Other options for the kids include summer swimming (in the middle of winter) at Aquadome, and free Adventure Golf with every entry to Animal World Zoo. Please check the website for terms and conditions.
“It’s impossible to list everything we have on offer so we invite guests to visit the Emerald Resort & Casino webpage to find full details of our winter offerings,” concludes Tanuja. “We look forward to hosting many happy faces this winter at Emerald Resort & Casino.”
