No, it’s no joke! Comedy nights are being introduced every Tuesday, at Emerald Resort & Casino’s Sports Bar. This weekly event will feature well known South African comedians and includes an open ‘mic’ spot.
“As the leading entertainment destination in the Vaal, we offer young and old a variety of quality entertainment with a new comedy evening adding even more choice for our guests,” says Tanuja Gangabishun, Marketing Executive at Emerald Resort & Casino. “The Sports Bar at Emerald Resort & Casino is the ideal venue to host these evenings.”
The first Tuesday Comedy Night at Sports Bar will be held on Tuesday, 3 November 2015 and every Tuesday night for the rest of November. The show will last two hours, starting at 19h00 with tickets available at the door for R30.00 per person. The weekly line up in November boasts some big names in comedy, the first being Mel Miller, Teboho Mchunu, Craig Caldwell and Pelepele Mchunu.
Mel Miller is a giant on the South African comedy scene and has been keeping the public entertained since the 60’s. Craig Caldwell is a local comedian who has performed internationally and regularly on the local Johannesburg comedy circuit. Pelepele is another industry giant, having performed all over the country with some of the biggest names in the country. Pelepele will have people falling out of their chairs with his sharp wit.
Sean Stevens is an up and coming comedian with an array of jokes up his sleeve. He loves to share his views of the world, is an award winning tattoo artist and a humanitarian. Teboho Theoha is a local comedian and a radio show host with an avid fan base in the Vaal. He has recently been tickling Joburg’s funny bones to rave reviews.
“One really great trait amongst South Africans is our ability to laugh at ourselves and we look forward to many ‘funny’ filled Tuesday evenings out at the Resort where Adventure Awaits,” concludes Tanuja. “I’m sure we’ll be in stitches with these class acts.”
