Business chamber to facilitate an open forum with municipal manager

On Friday the 16th March 2018, the acting Municipal Manager of City of Mbombela, will provide an unprecedented opportunity for local businesses owners to participate in an open forum with the City’s management.  The event is facilitated by the Kruger Lowveld Chamber of Business and Tourism, who’s mandate includes the building and maintaining of meaningful relationships with all spheres of government as well as likeminded organisations, and by acting as liaison between these entities and the business community.

The Municipal Manager, Mr Neil Diamond, was appointed on 1 July 2017 by the MEC of COGTA and received a clear mandate from the MEC and Executive Mayor to implement a turnaround strategy and establish a financially sound local government with a transparent clean administration that delivers quality services to the citizens of Mbombela.  With over 16 years’ local government experience, Neil Diamond brings a host of skills and expertise to the City of Mbombela in his new role as Municipal Manager.  He has a clear comprehension of business operating models, systems and business processes needed for efficient and effective local government. He has a strong business background and is well experienced in ICT and Real Estate.

Shortly after his appointment, Diamond drafted a financial turnaround plan for the City, which was approved by council at the end of last year.  At this engagement, he will share details about the turnaround plan, actions initiated to achieve targets and how businesses can contribute towards the future success of the City.

He will also share details of the City’s Vision 2030, a very interesting document that looks into the future requirements for infrastructure, development, housing, etc.
