Centred on this year’s theme, ‘Designing for Africa – feels like home’, Decorex Cape Town will feature a strong trade element at the 2019 exhibition, running at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 1 to 5 May, with 2 and 3 May dedicated trade-focused days.

This year, Decorex Cape Town has announced a number of key programme features that appeal to the trade visitors. These include:


–        100% Design South Africa

The largest curated exhibition platform for sourcing high-end contemporary design in Africa – 100% Design South Africa – will feature the unmissable 100% Extraordinary. This innovative installation will expose visitors to ultra-unusual design creations in furniture, textile, ceramics and even floral.


–        Instudio Trend Theatre by ABSA

Industry experts in business, design and finance will share ways to commercialise and expand business during this free-flow, CPD-accredited forum. Led by ABSA professionals, the forum will include talks by trend forecaster and creative business consultant, Dave Nemeth; design and creative industry professionals from Inscape Education Group; and Anita Bloom – Creative Director at Decorex SA.


–        The Kitchen Trend Project by the Studio Collection

Contemporary kitchen designs overseen by The Studio Collection and created by local kitchen manufacturers will feature at this year’s Kitchen Design Project by the Studio Collection. Visitors can look forward to the latest in kitchen trends such as sintered surfacing and handleless drawers.


–         Decorex Urban Living Trend House with Sevens

Anita Bloom, Creative Director at Decorex SA, will work with the dynamic team from Sevens Designs to reveal her favourite 2019 home and décor trends in this beautifully-realised urban home setting.   


–         Decorex International

Bloom will once again demonstrate her skill in globally-inspired installations that reflect the design and product preferences in London, Paris, New York to Cape Town.


–        Fabric House

The latest in fabric colours, textures, patterns and styles that will illuminate the show as Cape Town’s high-end fabric suppliers showcase the best in décor materials.

More than 36 000 visitors are expected to visit the 5-day exhibition, many of them trade delegates with 43% of those holding sole purchasing power.
