It’s time to dust off those skeletons and sharpen those talons because the best Halloween event is coming back bigger than ever before – the fourth annual edition of the Crocworld Conservation Centre Halloween Night Event will be taking place on Saturday, 26 October. This year’s spooktacular event, endorsed by Sapphire Coast Tourism, is themed ‘The Asylum vs Your Worst Nightmare’ and has a frighteningly full programme on the cards.
“The Halloween event has grown over the years and for 2019, we are planning the most entertaining evening yet!” said Martin Rodrigues, Manager of Crocworld Conservation Centre. “There are activities planned for all ages and we are encouraging all guests to come dressed in their scariest getup as there are great prizes in store for this year’s ‘Best Dressed Costume’ competition for various categories taking place with over R25000 worth in prizes.”
When it comes to entertainment, everyone is catered for! There will be a clown on stilts and folding animal balloons from 3:30pm to 6:30pm as well as jumping castles for the entire evening. Then, from 4.30pm to 7.30pm, there will be seven trick-or-treating stations set up around the centre, so bring along your treat bag. For a really heart-thumping, teeth-chattering, bone-rattling experience, there will be two scare zones – ‘The Asylum’ and ‘Your Worst Nightmare’ – open from 3.30pm to 7pm, and again from 8pm to 11pm. Enter if you dare!
The centre’s fiercest fanged creatures will also play their part this Halloween. Bring your torches and enjoy a self-guided tour of the centre between 3.30pm and 10pm, stopping by to witness a special night-time crocodile feeding and talk at 9pm.
Then for the older witches and wizards, this year’s Halloween celebrations will include a fully-stocked food court by the onsite restaurant, Fish Eagle Café, offering a wide variety of different food stalls, an SAB Beer Garden and Cocktail Shack, open from 3.30pm until 11pm. Some of the food options include burgers, boerie rolls, Saucy Chip Horns, biryani, curry, as well as homemade ice (s)cream and toppings, to name a few. While the children screech with fright and delight, parents can relax while enjoying live entertainment provided by quality musicians – DJ Michelle, Freddy L and DJ Syzo B.
This event wouldn’t be possible without its generous sponsors. Crocworld Conservation Centre extends its thanks to Food Lovers Market, South Coast Signs, Carla Comms 2 Way Radios, GIS, The Halloween Store, Scalliwags Costume Hire and Umdoni Private Ambulance. Special thanks also go out to all the sponsors of this year’s ‘Best Dressed’ competition.
The cost is R100 for adults, and R65 for children under 12 years. The scary action kicks off at 3.30pm with the ‘Best Dressed’ competition taking place between 6pm and 7pm. To avoid queues on the evening you can purchase your tickets online at www.crocworld.co.za or buy on the day. Don’t miss out on this frightfully fun event. It will be a scream!
