The #outdoorsarein this summer and the KZN South Coast is celebrating 2022 by hosting a number of family-friendly outdoor activities and adventures. Visitors are encouraged to diarise these upcoming dates and take advantage of the region’s beautiful Blue Flag beaches, nature reserves and hinterland excursions.

“It’s wonderful that the tourism economy is opening up this year, and our many tourism establishments are prioritising open-air activities in line with Covid-19 safety protocols,” said Phelisa Mangcu, CEO of Ugu South Coast Tourism (USCT). “The KZN South Coast is a well-established host for major sports and cultural events, and we’re thrilled to be offering these – and many new additions – to visitors this year.”

One of the additions to the KZN South Coast sports’ calendar is the PINEAPPLE EXPRESS ULTRA Trail Run. Race director, Director Damian Bradley from B-Active Events, said this is the perfect host location: “The KZN South Coast is an unspoilt gem on the South African coast. Having holidayed on the KZN South Coast since I was a young kid, I have always been drawn to its raw beauty and charm. The region lends itself to being one of the greatest venues for trail running in South Africa and we look forward to promoting it with our exciting new event in March.”
