IWISA No 1 launched its new ‘Fills Good’ purpose-led initiative in Mokopane on Thursday. Designed in partnership with its strategic customer Mokopane Food Hyper, the campaign will see the brand make a donation to the Mahwelereng Centre of Hope for every IWISA No 1 purchase made at the wholesaler between 1 July and 30 November 2024. With the aim of raising funds to assist with various infrastructure and equipment needs, Mokopane Food Hyper and IWISA No 1 are encouraging customers to share the joy of feeling good and doing good as they fill up their trolleys and tummies.
Excited care-givers, parents and children joined the management of Mokopane Food Hyper and the Mahwelereng Centre of Hope as IWISA No 1 launched its new “Fills Good” campaign at the local NPO.
Speaking at the event, Sibongile Mooko, Premier Executive: Marketing (Milling), explained that the campaign will see Premier allocate a donation to the Mahwelereng Centre of Hope from every purchase of IWISA No 1 at Mokopane Food Hyper: “This is a purpose-driven campaign where the donation comes directly from the product purchase. It will be made by Premier to the Centre of Hope as part of our commitment to support their remarkable work and help to build and grow this community.”
One of South Africa’s most celebrated staples, IWISA No 1 has been a household brand for over 60 years. “IWISA No 1 has always been a community-driven brand. Our brand purpose speaks to bringing individuals, families and communities together to build, grow and do great things. It’s all about making a positive and sustainable difference,” notes Mooko. “This campaign allows us to do just that – with our customers driving the achievement of the donation target. This makes their choice count, especially as they selected the NPO that will benefit from their purchase.”
She explains that the IWISA No 1 sales team worked closely with the management of Mokopane Food Hyper to select a registered charity close to the community’s heart. “We wanted to amplify the local impact and difference the Centre of Hope was making through their work with mentally and physically disabled youth in our community. They care for and support them when they need it the most,” says Mohammed Tickly, Mokpane Food Hyper: Store Owner. “We’re excited about working together to raise a donation that will assist with critical infrastructure and equipment needs at the centre. Our sales team here at Mokopane Food Hyper is ready!”
Local corporates, special guests and media at the event had the opportunity to meet representatives from the Centre of Hope, discovering more about their impact and the work in the community. Everyone present also enjoyed a delicious lunch of IWISA No 1 and other local ingredients.
With the launch being celebrated in Mandela Month, Mooko also used the opportunity to announce that Premier will be supplying the Centre with IWISA No 1 maize meal each month. “This will contribute significantly to the food security of the children living at the centre.”
“Thank you to Mokopane Food Hyper and IWISA No 1 for their commitment to our future as an organisation,” concludes Shaun Ledwaba, Founder of the Mahwelereng Centre of Hope. “Keep watching this space – and please keep supporting us through this campaign. Your choice can make all the difference.”
