Lalibela Community Outreach is proud to announce the launch of two impactful initiatives—School is Cool and Shoes for Africa—aimed at supporting the education and wellbeing of children in the underserved Seven Fountains community in the Eastern Cape.

Empowering education through school is cool
School is Cool is designed to provide essential educational tools to primary and high school learners. Each child receives a pencil case filled with stationery, ensuring they have the necessary resources to succeed in their studies. This initiative is part of Lalibela Community Outreach’s ongoing Project 142, which is committed to community upliftment in areas of education, health, nutrition, and conservation.
Stepping up with Shoes for Africa
The Shoes for Africa initiative addresses a critical need by providing school shoes to children who lack proper footwear. The foundation has established a sustainable shoe bank where children can exchange shoes that no longer fit, fostering a culture of sharing and accountability. The initial donation of 20 pairs of shoes was made possible by generous contributions from guests of Lalibela Wildlife Reserve.

A holistic approach to community support
The foundation also offers after-school tutoring, daily nutritious meals, and reading glasses for children in need. By focusing on holistic support, the foundation ensures that every child has the opportunity to thrive academically and personally.
Natalie Lombard, highlights the importance of these contributions: “When people feel valued and supported, they have the opportunity to create a meaningful future and uplift others.”
