The 2024 IWISA No.1 Fills Good campaign has officially closed out, raising an incredible R45 000 for the Lighthouse Children’s Home in Rustenburg.
Speaking at the event held at Lighthouse this week, Sibongile Mooko, Premier Marketing and Insights Executive, thanked both the team at Three Star Powertrade and the greater Rustenburg community for their heartfelt support throughout the campaign: “This is a moment of celebration not just for Lighthouse, but for our entire community. The R45 000 raised is testament to what’s possible when purpose, partnership and people come together. We are deeply grateful to every single person who chose IWISA No.1 at Three Star Powertrade. You didn’t just fill your trolley: you helped fill a child’s future with possibility.”
Launched in May 2024, IWISA No.1 Fills Good is a purpose-led campaign with a difference. “The campaign is a CEO-led initiative,” noted Mooko. “It falls outside of our CSI commitments and represents a direct investment into our community in Rustenburg. Throughout the campaign period, whenever a consumer bought an IWISA No.1 product at Three Star Powertrade, a percentage of that purchase was ring-fenced for Lighthouse Children’s Home. Today we’re delighted to hand these funds over to them – helping them contribute this R45 000 towards paying off the exit home which the organisation purchased last year. This has gone a long way to create a safe, supportive environment for children who turn 18 and are legally required to leave the main home, and we are privileged to have assisted in taking a critical step closer to realising this dream.”
Wayne Labuschagne, the regional manager of Three Star Powertrade, shared that the handover marked a significant milestone in a campaign that turned everyday purchases into acts of generosity. “We’re exceptionally grateful to our customers and staff for supporting this campaign throughout the full period. Even though times were tight last year, we saw community members consistently open their hearts and wallets to purchase with purpose. We’re humbled by what we were able to achieve together.”
“Our dream of ensuring all of our children step into a safe future of hope, dignity and opportunity – where they can be supported when they turn 18 – is now possible,” said Elsa Doubell, Co-Founder of Lighthouse. “This funding means that we’re a step closer to paying off the bond on our new exit home. It means that our 18 year-olds don’t have to face the future alone.”
Established almost six years ago in direct response to community need, the Lighthouse is currently home to almost 70 children. It provides a lifeline for many, operating solely on the goodwill of the public and private sectors. “This makes community-focused campaigns like IWISA No.1 Fills Good not just meaningful, but mission-critical for the work we do,” added Doubell.
The impact of the campaign extended far beyond donations, however. Throughout the period, it helped shine a light on the vital work being done by organisations like Lighthouse across South Africa. “We are humbled by the way Rustenburg has stood behind us,” says Doubell. “From every shared story to every purchased pack of IWISA No.1 – you’ve helped us carry this load.”
With announcements about the next campaign to be made in the very near future, IWISA No 1 remains committed to investing in Rustenburg to grow and empower this community. “As a brand, we’re here to build to a better tomorrow,” said Mooko. “We know that change doesn’t always come in big gestures. Sometimes, it’s in the small, everyday choices we make – like the product we put in our trolley.
“We are so proud of what we’ve achieved together. This is the kind of difference that truly fills good,” she concluded.
