World Cognac Day: 4 June

The fourth of June is World Cognac Day and what better way to celebrate than with a cognac inspired cocktail.

Below is a classic recipe for a Courvoisier cocktail that is perfect as an accompaniment to beautiful meals or a platter of charcuterie and cheeses, or as a sundowner enjoyed on its own.

The Courvoisier Gala

The Courvoisier Gala is a refreshing cocktail fit for daytime occasions. Citrus, sweet with bubbles and fruit structure, the Courvoisier Gala reveals its vibrancy through carbonations. It is fresh, light and easy to drink.

INGREDIENTS
50ml Courvoisier® VS or VSOP
50ml Grapefruit Juice
Top off with Indian Tonic Water (we prefer Fitch & Leedes)

METHOD

Build all ingredients over ice and garnish with lemon.

(Alternatively, replace Grapefruit Juice and the tonic with your favourite citrus-flavoured tonic.)

About Cognac

Cognac is produced in the Cognac region of France, just north of Bordeaux. This region is a controlled designation of origin, or AOP (Appellation d’Origine Protégée), with many rules regulating the quality of Cognac. This is a good thing as it means that every Cognac comes with a stamp of authenticity.
