Eagle Ford rebrands as Eagle Motor City, launching a full-service automotive hub in response to shifting consumer trends

One of South Africa’s most established automotive dealership groups, Eagle Ford, has announced its rebrand to Eagle Motor City, unveiling a new 360-degree automotive retail model designed to meet the evolving expectations of local motorists.

The rebrand reflects a strategic shift in the way vehicles are sold, financed and maintained, with Eagle Motor City offering a fully integrated, full-service motoring hub that goes beyond the traditional dealership experience.

According to CEO John Landey, the new model was developed in direct response to a changing market landscape marked by high interest rates, rising fuel costs and an increased demand for value, trust and after-sales support.

“Buying a car has always been an emotional and financial milestone for many South Africans,” says Landey. “But too often, it ends at the sale. Our new model builds a lifelong relationship between the customer and the brand – whether they’re purchasing a first-time Suzuki or a premium Ford or Mazda.”

Key Features of the Eagle Motor City Model:

Multi-brand showroom featuring Suzuki, Ford, Mahindra and Mazda

On-site finance and insurance tailored to personal life stages

Full maintenance and repair offering, including diagnostics, tyres, dents, glass repairs and more

Digital customer service touchpoints powered by AI, supported by consistent in-person support

Eagle Motor City’s hybrid approach aims to preserve the human connection while offering the convenience of end-to-end automotive services under one roof.

“We still believe in the power of human connection,” Landey adds. “But we’ve enhanced it with tech, so our customers get the best of both worlds.”

The inclusion of Suzuki in its vehicle line-up is seen as a move to widen accessibility, particularly for value-conscious buyers, while the company remains cautious on EV uptake until market demand matures.

The rebrand also reflects a broader trend in the industry toward customer-centric auto hubs, mirroring global shifts in how automotive services are packaged and delivered.
