Friday, September 27, was a day to remember at Inyoni Creek Retirement Village as residents and staff came together for a vibrant Heritage Day braai, filled with fun, food and tradition!
“The excitement began at the clubhouse, where the staff donned colourful traditional outfits, bringing the spirit of Heritage Day alive,” says Inyoni Creek manager Jenny Tonkin.
“Residents who joined the celebration enjoyed a lively braai, savouring delicious food while sharing laughter and stories,” she adds.
But the festivities didn’t end there! In a beautiful blend of Heritage Day and Arbor Day traditions, the team moved to the pool centre for a special moment – planting a Lavender Tree that was donated by Servest.
“With the new footbridge at South Block as the backdrop, staff and Servest came together to plant the tree, symbolising growth, unity, and the deep roots of Inyoni Creek’s community.
“The day was a perfect mix of celebration, culture, and giving back to nature – a memory that will grow just like the Lavender Tree,” says Jenny.
