On Friday evening, the bridge at The Zone @ Rosebank was transformed into a space of joy, movement and meaningful impact as over 100 people gathered to take part in Dance For Good, a 67-minute guided dance session in honour of Mandela Day.
Hosted by STRONG PR, Marketing and Events in partnership with Secret Sunrise and The Zone @ Rosebank, the event brought together families, friends and individuals of all ages to move with purpose and give back.
The response from the community was overwhelmingly generous. Attendees filled over two full trolleys of groceries, toiletries and warm clothing, all donated as part of the Build-A-Backpack campaign. These donations will go directly to support the Rosebank Homeless Association and Immaculata Shelter, who provide vital services to some of the city’s most vulnerable residents.
The dance was co-facilitated by Mika Stefano and Herkie du Preez, directors of STRONG PR, who led the crowd through an energetic and heartfelt 67-minute movement experience – reminding everyone that even a simple act like dancing can carry deep meaning when done for a cause.
“We were blown away by the generosity and spirit of the people who showed up,” said Stefano. “Seeing families and kids dancing next to strangers, all united by a shared purpose, was incredibly moving. This is what Mandela Day is all about – community, compassion and action.”
STRONG PR, Marketing and Events captured the energy of the night through their media team and will continue sharing stories from the event in the days to come.
Dance For Good was not just an event – it was a reminder that giving back can be joyful, accessible and inclusive.
