In a bid to further strengthen its diverse talent pool, Redstor, a born-in-the cloud software vendor and provider of the smarter cloud backup platform of choice for managed service providers (MSPs), has underscored its dedication to gender equality and female empowerment.

The Redstor Women’s Impact Network (WINTribe) initiative highlights this commitment. Even though WINTribe champions the cause of women, it embraces active participation from male allies. The goal of the initiative is to create an environment where all individuals, regardless of gender, get an equal opportunity to grow. A cornerstone of WINTribe’s principles is fostering a workspace that values contributions from all perspectives.

“Through initiatives focusing on mentorship, skill development, and leadership training, we’re taking proactive steps to empower our team members to achieve their professional goals,” says Linda Misauer, VP of Software Security at Redstor and Chair of WINTribe.

Redstor’s recruitment strategy also reflects this spirit. The company aims to overcome unconscious biases and challenges related to gender through tailored training programmes. The desired outcome for Redstor is having a balanced workforce where everyone’s viewpoints are respected, and female talent is not just integrated but celebrated. Such a philosophy not only boosts the morale of the employees but also enhances the company’s overall performance.

Sharing her own experience, Misauer says, “It wasn’t always smooth sailing in an industry often male-dominated. However, continuous learning, valuable networks, and Redstor’s unwavering support played an instrumental role in turning challenges into opportunities.”

At the heart of Redstor’s gender equality initiatives lies a clear vision: diversity in decision-making. It is not about favouring one gender over another, but about harnessing the strengths that come from varied perspectives. By using a combination of metrics, from recruitment patterns to employee satisfaction surveys, Redstor evaluates and refines its diversity and inclusivity strategies regularly.

Outside its corporate environment, Redstor’s commitment extends to broader community initiatives. The company provides mentorship programmes that pair experienced leaders with budding professionals, conduct regular workshops, and host knowledge sessions aimed at equipping women with the tools and insights they need to shine in their careers.

With these initiatives, Redstor is shaping a future where every team member, regardless of gender, is well-equipped and motivated to contribute meaningfully to the company’s shared goals.
