STRONG PR celebrates the Launch of Novus Media’s new weekly Afrikaans newspaper, ‘Die Papier’

STRONG PR, Marketing and Events is proud to be working alongside Novus Media as the company launches its newest publication, Die Papier, a weekly Afrikaans newspaper designed to serve Afrikaans-speaking audiences across South Africa.

After several months of collaboration, the STRONG PR team was honoured to be part of this significant milestone as Die Papier officially launched, marking an exciting new chapter in the South African media landscape.

Published every Friday in both print and digital formats, Die Papier aims to bridge a growing gap in the media market by delivering news, community reporting, business, sport, culture and lifestyle coverage tailored specifically to Afrikaans-speaking readers nationwide. More than simply a news outlet, the publication positions itself as a platform for meaningful community dialogue, giving a voice to Afrikaans speakers who often feel underserved by national media.

At the editorial helm is respected journalist Barnard Beukman, former Editor of Beeld, who has signalled a clear editorial vision for the publication. Under his leadership, Die Papier will embrace thoughtful and interpretive journalism and, where necessary, will not shy away from honest debate and constructive controversy.

The launch represents a proud moment for the STRONG PR team, who have been closely involved in supporting Novus Media throughout the process.

Publicist Bronwen Hirshowitz, who has been leading media relations on the project, says the launch is a moment worth celebrating.

“It’s incredibly special to see a new publication come to life. Being part of the journey with the Novus Media team over the past few months has been inspiring, and we’re thrilled to see Die Papier now out in the world.”

Supporting the project alongside Bronwen is Brandon Clack, who is project lead, as well as Conan Ntuli, who is responsible for all Novus Media video content.

For STRONG PR director Mika Stefano, the partnership with Novus Media represents the kind of collaboration the agency values most.

“We are incredibly proud to be working with the Novus Media team. Launching a new newspaper is no small feat, and it was truly exciting to witness the very first issue roll off the press at Novus Print. Moments like that remind you of the power of storytelling and the role media continues to play in shaping conversations in our country.”

As Die Papier begins its journey as a new voice in Afrikaans media, STRONG PR, Marketing and Events looks forward to continuing its partnership with Novus Media and supporting the growth of the publication in the months ahead.
