What happens when South Africa’s No. 1 Feel-Good Station brings its community together for a day of golf, fun and giving back? R5.5 million raised for Good Morning Angels.
Jacaranda FM’s annual Good Morning Angels Golf Day, held at Irene Country Club, has raised an incredible R5.5 million for the Good Morning Angels Fund, creating an even greater opportunity for the station to support listeners and South Africans facing medical emergencies, extreme hardship and life-changing circumstances.
Bringing together approximately 80 companies, the annual event transformed the golf course, bowls field, padel courts and sponsor village into a day of sport, entertainment, creativity and fundraising, before culminating in an evening celebration and charity auction.
Every element of the day, from the hole activations to the teams competing on the golf course, bowls field and padel court, was designed to raise funds for the Good Morning Angels Fund, enabling the station to continue stepping in for South Africans facing extreme hardship and medical emergencies.
“We are incredibly grateful to every company, sponsor, participant, partner and individual who contributed to this year’s Good Morning Angels Golf Day,” says Vuyani Dombo, Managing Director of Jacaranda FM. “R5.5 million is an extraordinary achievement, but what makes it particularly meaningful is what that money represents. It represents hope, dignity and tangible support for people who are going through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. The generosity and creativity shown throughout the day was a powerful reminder of what can happen when our community comes together behind a common purpose.”
The No. 1 Feel-Good Golf Day
The Good Morning Angels Golf Day has become one of the biggest dates on Jacaranda FM’s annual calendar, bringing together the station’s business partners, clients, listeners and supporters for a day where fundraising and fun go hand in hand.
This year, approximately 80 companies contributed to the experience across the golf course, bowls field, padel courts, sponsor village, prize-giving ceremony and auction. The result was a day packed with creativity and entertainment, from spectacular hole activations and sporting challenges to live performances and a charity auction.
The event’s best hole activation went to Sabat and Midas, whose high-energy activation featured superbikes performing tricks and live entertainment. The activation also raised approximately R20,000 for Good Morning Angels through a raffle.
In the Sponsor Village, Skill Set Solutions took the prize for the best participation, while the evening charity auction raised a further R650,000 for the Good Morning Angels Fund.
The auction was hosted by comedian Nicholas Goliath, with guests also treated to live performances from Stephanie Baartman and Demi-Lee Moore.
A night-golf nearest-to-the-pin competition added another R80,000 to the fundraising total. But while the activations, competitions and entertainment made the day memorable, the reason behind it all remained the same: to give Good Morning Angels the means to help more people.
The impact continues long after the golf day
Good Morning Angels has spent years responding to the stories of ordinary South Africans going through extraordinary circumstances. From families facing devastating medical diagnoses and children needing urgent treatment to people who suddenly find themselves unable to afford essential care, the fund exists to step in when help is needed most.
The R5.5 million raised this year means Good Morning Angels can continue answering those calls. It means more opportunities to provide practical financial assistance when a listener has nowhere else to turn. It means being able to contribute towards medical treatment, essential equipment, urgent interventions and other forms of support that can make an immediate and meaningful difference to a family’s life.
For Jacaranda FM’s Martin Bester, host of the popular ‘Breakfast With Martin Bester’, the R5.5 million raised is a powerful reminder of the generosity of the Jacaranda FM community.

Bester adds, “The creativity of the activations this year was also next level. I stood at some of those holes and honestly got goosebumps. Ultimately, though, all the fun and entertainment comes back to one thing: raising money to help people. Knowing that the R5.5 million raised will help us make a difference through Good Morning Angels makes this day so incredibly special. We cannot thank everyone who showed up, supported us, donated and gave their time enough.”
Every Wednesday morning, listeners hear the stories of people who need a helping hand. The fund allows Jacaranda FM, together with its network of Angels, to turn those stories into action. Every rand raised from this year’s Good Morning Angels Golf Day contributes to the Good Morning Angels Fund, which enables Jacaranda FM to assist individuals and families whose lives have been impacted by circumstances ranging from medical emergencies and serious illness to other life-changing challenges.
The R5.5 million raised this year will help ensure that the Good Morning Angels team can continue answering the call when people need a little help, and a reminder that they are not alone.
